BOMA/GLA Emerging Leaders Give Back Through Composting Volunteer Event
BOMA/GLA's Emerging Leaders recently rolled up their sleeves to support a local sustainability effort with a volunteer day at LA Compost.
Our members spent the day helping process approximately 2,000 pounds of food scraps and sift 98 gallons of finished compost.
Through their efforts, the group contributed a combined 22 volunteer hours and raised more than $225 in support of LA Compost's mission.
What You Need to Know
LA Compost is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing food waste, improving soil health, and building more sustainable communities through composting education and community engagement.
During the volunteer event, BOMA/GLA Emerging Leaders helped transform food waste that would otherwise end up in landfills into nutrient-rich compost that can be used to support local gardens, farms, and green spaces.
How It Impacts You
Sustainability extends beyond building operations. Volunteer opportunities like this allow commercial real estate professionals to support environmental stewardship, strengthen community partnerships, and demonstrate the industry's commitment to creating healthier and more sustainable communities.
We wanted to thank everyone who participated and helped make a positive impact through this volunteer effort.
We look forward to continuing to support organizations that are making a difference throughout the Greater Los Angeles region.
