BOMA/GLA Preparing to Take Member Priorities to Washington DC
This month, BOMA/GLA is heading to Washington, D.C. to meet with congressional offices and advocate on federal policies that matter most to commercial real estate in Greater Los Angeles.
Our advocacy staff will be joined by leaders from our Political Action Committee (PAC) and Government Affairs Committee—bringing real, on-the-ground perspectives from owners and managers who know what it takes to keep buildings and business districts strong.
What You Need to Know
- We’re telling the CRE story—directly. We’re meeting with congressional offices to explain how commercial real estate supports jobs, local tax bases, and vibrant communities—and why smart federal partnerships are essential to downtown recovery.
- Our message is solutions-focused. Conversations will center on aligning homelessness and public safety funding with local implementation, infrastructure readiness as Los Angeles prepares for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and federal tax incentives for downtown revitalization.
- Members are at the table. PAC and Government Affairs leaders are traveling alongside staff to ensure policymakers hear from the professionals managing and operating buildings every day.
How It Impacts You
For property managers: Federal policies shape financing feasibility, tenant demand, public safety conditions, and the pace of downtown recovery. Advocacy helps ensure those policies reflect real operational challenges.
For service providers: A healthier, more active downtown means sustained demand for building services, technology, security, maintenance, and capital improvements.
For the region: Strong commercial districts help stabilize communities, support small businesses, and drive long-term economic resilience—outcomes that benefit everyone.
