BOMA at the Bowl: Fueling the Advocacy That Protects CRE

BOMA at the Bowl

If you’ve been following BOMA/GLA’s advocacy lately, you know there’s a lot happening across Greater Los Angeles.

In just the past few weeks, BOMA/GLA has been working to protect the commercial real estate industry from policies that could increase costs, restrict property operations, or set precedents for other cities.

We’re pushing back against proposed commercial tenant protections in Los Angeles County that could function as soft rent control.

We’re opposing a Pasadena parcel tax that would charge property owners based on building square footage, including parking garages, and could cost a 500,000-square-foot property approximately $95,000 every year.

We’re also watching and engaging on a Culver City parcel tax that would add another annual cost for property owners.

And beyond these local fights, BOMA/GLA members recently traveled to Sacramento to advocate directly with lawmakers on permitting reform, rising operating costs, and other issues affecting commercial real estate.

This work doesn’t happen on its own; that’s where BOMA at the Bowl comes in!

On September 11th, BOMA/GLA members and industry partners will come together for one of our biggest advocacy fundraisers of the year. Your participation helps support the relationships, outreach, candidate engagement, and advocacy infrastructure that allow BOMA/GLA to respond when policies affecting our industry emerge.

Whether the issue starts in Pasadena, Culver City, Los Angeles County, Sacramento, or somewhere else across our region, BOMA/GLA is working to make sure commercial real estate has a voice at the table.

Come for the Bowl. Support the Voice of CRE!
