Happy Holidays from BOMA/GLA—Championing CRE Together

PP_FINAL

As 2025 comes to a close, we at BOMA/GLA want to extend our warmest holiday wishes to our members, partners, and friends.

This season, we celebrate not only the holidays but also a year of meaningful advocacy that strengthened and protected the commercial real estate community in Greater Los Angeles.

In 2025, we engaged with all Los Angeles City Council offices and LA County Supervisors to ensure CRE priorities were heard, started our fight against proposed Parking Occupancy and Vacancy Taxes, and supported policies that safeguard commercial properties while optimizing day-to-day operations.

2026 Priorities

Guided by insights from our membership survey, our Government Affairs Committee finalized key legislative priorities moving into 2026 including:

1. Homelessness, encampments, and safety
2. Occupancy, leasing and tenant retention
3. Back to work orders – especially for the City of Los Angeles
4. Compliance with new regulation with a particular emphasis on seismic retrofit requirements.
5. Promoting incentives vs. unfunded mandates (boiler requirement as an example).

Thank you for your continued support in shaping policies that make our buildings safer, more sustainable, and better for tenants and communities alike.

Don’t forget to watch out for our monthly Policy Pulse newsletter to stay informed on the latest advocacy developments.

From all of us at BOMA/GLA, happy holidays and here’s to even more advocacy wins in 2026!
