What Would a Parcel Tax Cost Your Building?
Two measures on the November ballot could add a new annual cost to commercial properties in Pasadena and Culver City. We are hosting a virtual member town hall to explain the proposed taxes and what they could mean for your property.
In Pasadena, the proposed fire parcel tax is 19 cents per square foot of developed space each year for 14 years. For a 500,000-square-foot building, that is $95,000 a year, even if some of the space is vacant.
In Culver City, the proposed school parcel tax is 48 cents per building square foot each year for 10 years, with a $15,000 annual cap per parcel. A property with multiple parcels could face more than one capped charge.
At the town hall, we’ll walk through how each tax works, share advocacy updates, and answer members’ questions before Election Day.
