Culver City Launches New Dashboard for Homeless Services Reporting
A Homeless Services Dashboard is now available for the Culver City community. It helps track the city's efforts in delivering services to its homeless population.
What You Need to Know
The dashboard shares key performance indicators (KPI) for various program areas.
For example, Project Homekey Interim Housing program was tasked with producing 73 total units of housing and has so far housed 29 people between February and June 2024. Other KPIs include mental health services, healthcare checks, and meals served.
Mayor Yasmine-Imani McMorrin shares that this dashboard allows the community to see progress "to combat this homelessness crisis in a transparent, easy-to-understand and accessible way."
Other cities can learn from Culver City's example by adopting similar dashboards to track their efforts in addressing homelessness and provide updates on past commitments.
This approach engages the community, promotes transparency, and ensures accountability in delivering vital services to those in need.
How It Impacts You
This dashboard gives us key data on the city’s efforts to address homelessness and provides a model other cities can adopt to track their progress.
As we know, homelessness affects property values, tenant retention, and investment decisions.
Tracking helps see what works and what doesn’t to help create sustainable change in homelessness numbers and resources. In turn, helping our properties and tenants be safe.
A transparent dashboard allows us to see the efforts being executed by local government and what programs and resources provide the best results.
This could allow cities to learn from each other what programs and resources are most helpful based on the data.
